Nothing - swing
There is more to life than just the time of day Nothing to lose nothing to say Still nothing comes my way
No no no no not today
So I sit here on my couch And I lie all day Maybe that’s why Nothing comes my way
No no no not today Oh yeah (Sax solo)
So I sit here on my couch & I lie all day Maybe that’s way Still nothing comes my way yeah yeah yeah No not today yeah yeah yeah Oh no (Sax solo)
There is drawing on my face Can you tell me what it says? Nothing taken place Nothing comes my way Oh no no no no no not today No no no no Li-li- listen Li-li- listen to what I say Not today.
Here we are starting to dig up some interesting old history... this song NOTHING was written about the same time as Wandering and was on the same theme... how many of us kind of like the line in John Lennon’s “Nowhere man” “living in his nowhere land, ...“ is a social comment I suppose... it was first recorded as a demo with a friend of mine from New Zealand on blues harmonica. Some said it was a bit like the music of “The the”. And here in Valmiera in this “Ceļojums” concert I got to do two versions of it, a swing version (I want to thank Nick Jackman from NZ for the idea on this version, even though he don’t think too good of me anymore) that was recorded with Ainars Stors playing sax on it, and later a rock version with Sandris Dubovs, playing trombone.
